I remember my first introduction to this book, a roommate in college had to learn it, she was an elementary education major, and read it, I believe memorized to her "class" for a project. It is such a cute story.
Little Corduroy only knows life in the big department store and the shelf he is on until one day a mother points out he is missing a button. That night he goes to look for it and has great discoveries. The next morning he learns what a home and a friend is, something he has always wanted. I love the bond of a stuffed animal and this book captures it.
