Three Pebbles and a Song - Spinelli

Moses the Mouse is a very distracted and ultimately disobedient mouse. His parents both tell him to search for food and things to help their home be warm as the winter approaches but all he wants to do is have fun. When winter arrives they have food to eat because of everyone but Moses, they are warm because of everyone but Moses but when they become bored they let his energy entertain them. I am disturbed at the total disregard for this little one's disobedience. And then the condoning of his antics just because they are bored. I realize one cannot punish eternally but it was like it didn't matter that he refused to help with the winter's needs.
It is as the old Proverb says, "if a man doesn't work, he shouldn't eat."
