Roses are Pink, Your Feet Really Stink - deGroat

Gilbert's class is told to write everyone a Valentines in their class and to say something nice about each person but there are two people he can't stand. When Gilbert says some not nice things and then signs somebody else's name to his cards he thinks he is off the hook. However, feelings are hurt and the truth comes out, will the kids ever like Gilbert again? Gilbert realizes his mistake and tries to make things right by righting new notes to his enemies. He finds in a hurry that those once assumed enemies were really not so bad after all.
I thought this book was good in that it really shows the emotions that can happen in a classroom come Valentine's Day. Everyone wants to be loved. This would be a great book to read to your class or read to your kids parents before Valentines day to get them to thinking that others are special even if they might not seem like it from the surface, everyone needs a word of love.
